Steadicam and gimbal operator

I own a variety of stabilisers, including gimbals and Steadicams, which means I have the perfect tool for a wide range of film projects. If you're looking to capture smooth, steady shots and add a touch of dynamic movement to your film, Iook no further.

Steadicam or gimbal?

The best stabiliser for your project will depend on your specific needs and goals.

My gimbal (RS3 Pro) can be set up in 20 mins and operated solo, making it a good choice for small crews. If needed, the head of the gimbal can be controlled remotely by a second person. This is useful when the gimbal is on a crane or a car rig mount. However, it has a camera weight limit of 4.5kg, which excludes some ARRI and RED camera rigs.

My Steadicam alternative (Flycam Galaxy with  Redking sled) can support cameras up to 6.5kg and has the added benefit of isolating up and down movement, which results in more stable shots when running fast or traveling up and down stairs. The pan is also manual, which allows for very quick whip pans.

If you have a camera rig that weighs over 6.5kg, then I would recommend the Steadicam Zephyr, which I can rent at a discounted rate.
